Prospecting in Australia is one of the most rewarding pastimes you can participate in.

Well that’s my opinion anyway, not just the rewards you may obtain from precious metals you may recover , but the places you will see, the friends you will make and the history you will uncover.

At school I was board with Australian history, it seemed to be all about politics' and land rights.

Well after getting into prospecting for gold my opinion changed. Of course I am a little older now as well, I started collecting books on prospecting, anything would do and a lot of them are full of the history.

Where the miners came from, how they got here and why. When they arrived and the track they took to the gold fields it’s all fascinating and our history.
