Lucy

My Old dog Lucy died.

I wanted to capture her on canvas so I practiced with crayon first , I wasn’t happy with it .

My Old Mate

My dog Lucy was my mate. I was given her by my parents when I moved out of home up to Harden NSW to do my apprenticeship as a carpenter. We were great mates and she would do anything for me, she could understand what I said. Later in life I moved back to Canberra and married my first wife, Lucy was not happy about this but she grew into it. Lucy loved the stick and would chase any thrown thing and bring it back, she was great with a Frisbee.

This proved to be her demise as during a fishing trip to lake Eucumbene she jumped out of the boat chasing Ducks and was run over by the motor. We rushed her to the vet at Cooma but she died on the way.

10 years old and a great mate.

So many stories.
