Well this was not really around Canberra but it is a made up painting of a Blackboy or Tree grass.

I used a local Blackboy as reference and put it on a W.A type background. Worked quite well.

Now this is around Canberra, out

Near the Cotter Dam at a place called Pierces Creek. The Blackboys here, I have been told are hundreds of years old.

Another from the same area. Not only are the Blackboys very interesting, but the rocks are as well.

Many rocks are perched on top of others , some gently balanced or so it seems. This is a great area and one I loved to paint.

Not far from the Cotter and Pierces creek is a place called Thawa.

My mate Barry and I used to hunt a lot in this area. Most trips were an early start and the mornings out in those hills were just unbelievable.

I snapped a few photos one morning with the mist rolling over the hills and later painted this painting.

Another painting in the same area as the one above. In the background you can just see the Murrumbidgee River snaking its way through the valley.

Point hut is an area about 5 klms from my house. It is on the Murrumbidgee river.

This view was looking back towards the suburbs over the river, there is even a shopping center in the background.

Yeah I know you cant see them, it is a painting not a photo and I painted it as I thought it would have looked before the development.
